Loyal Orange Lodge 398

Our story

The Sussex Martyrs Memorial are one of the oldest lodges in England dating back to 1895, but they were originally set up by the Royal Engineers in Aldershot some years before. We moved from Lewes to Eastbourne in 2021 and have seen our membership treble in size. New members are always welcome to our fraternity, we're a religious, charitable organisation with our King & Sovereign at the foremost of our ideology. We DO NOT accept racism or religious hatred in any form. We will always be Pro Protestant.

Who belongs in the Orange Order?

Our members are from different nationalities, races & backgrounds, united by a Protestant faith. That includes Anglican,  Methodist,  Presbyterian,  Baptist or free church.

We're not pledged to any political party, only the love of our nation & the Commonwealth. In short, the glory of God & love of man, the honour of his Protestant Sovereign & the good of his Country should be the principles & motives of a true Orangeman's life and conduct.

From modest beginnings, we've grown through unwavering dedication and a commitment to continuous improvement. Each step has reinforced our core belief in the power of collaboration and the importance of integrity. We're passionate about what we do, and we're excited to share our story with you.
